Some things in life simply aren't about you

If I have learned nothing else in my life, I have learned that some things.. some occurrences in life.. simply aren't about me. While this can be a hard pill to swallow (especially at times when I feel like things SHOULD be about me-selfish as that may be) I know that God is the author of my life's story. I know that God knows and sees all things and even at those times when I feel most vulnerable or out of control God is still there. God still sees my heart in things and that God will orchestrate situations the way he sees fit.. the way things are supposed to be.

At this particular moment in my life, I am humbled to God that he has allowed me to carry such a precious gift of his for the time that I have been given. It is such a joy to feel her little (or BIG) kicks and sweet little nudges or hiccups. She never fails to reassure me that she is happy and secure in my womb. I love how much I love her already. I do realize though that this moment is not about me. This moment is about her. It is about creating a family with my husband. This moment is about bringing forth a beautiful baby girl so she can fulfill her destiny. This moment is not about YOU, or YOU, or YOU. It is about her. I have learned a lot of lessons in my life time but, most importantly, I have learned that some things in life even major occurrences in my life, such as childbirth, aren't really about me at all. They happen to fulfill a bigger purpose. They happen to fulfill destiny. While it would be easy for me to be selfish during this time, I know that there is a bigger purpose at stake. I know this is about Merci and God. I pray that others get this revelation as well. Being selfish by feeling entitled are very dangerous and lonely places to be.
